Never burn any asbestos-containing waste material.

Non-asbestos-containing demolition debris and debris that contains only non-regulated roofing or flooring may be disposed of at a SCDES-approved disposal site for cellulosic or inert waste. Waste consolidation activities involving grinding, cutting, or compacting of non-friable asbestos-containing materials will subject these materials to more stringent State and Federal asbestos disposal regulations.

Asbestos Section 

SCDES Asbestos Section issues asbestos permits for regulated renovation and demolition activities. The Asbestos Section also licenses individuals involved in either the inspection, design, air monitoring, in-place management, removal, cleanup or other handling of regulated asbestos-containing materials.
