SCDES is excited to host the 2025 Environmental Assistance Conference!

The ideal attendees for the 2025 Environmental Assistance Conference (EAC) would include:

  • Environmental Compliance Professionals: Individuals responsible for ensuring their organizations adhere to environmental regulations and permit conditions. They will benefit from the resources and contacts provided at the conference.
  • Business and Industry Representatives: Those from various sectors who need to stay informed about compliance requirements and best practices. They can gain insights from SCDES staff and other experts.
  • Local Government Officials: Representatives from municipalities and counties who manage local environmental programs and need to understand state and federal regulations.
  • Environmental Consultants: Professionals who advise businesses and governments on compliance strategies and environmental management. They can network and learn about the latest tools and techniques.

The EAC will be Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center located at 1101 Lincoln Street in Columbia. Sign-in will open at 8:30 a.m. and the conference will begin at 9 a.m.

We want everyone who attends the EAC to come away with the necessary resources and contacts that will assist them their compliance efforts.

The EAC’s keynote speaker will be SCDES Director Myra Reece who will provide important insights from our first year as a new environmental agency and share insights from the state and federal level.

In addition, SCDES subject matter experts will be hosting breakout sessions throughout the day that will focus on compliance tools in programs areas such as hazardous waste, stormwater, air quality and solid waste, etc. From August 1 to September 1, we will be receiving requests for specific topics of interest.

The conference also will feature dozens of businesses and organizations in an exhibitor showcase, and SCDES staff will be available to provide technical assistance and answer permitting questions.
