GREENWOOD COUNTY, S.C. — SCDES, SCDNR and Greenwood County officials continue to work together to investigate the recent fish kill in an area of Lake Greenwood in Greenwood County.
Both state agencies continue to receive and review sample results as well as follow up on information provided by local residents in order to try to determine the cause.

Lindler’s Construction of South Carolina, LLC has applied to SCDES for a permit to mine sand and clay at a site located on US Hwy 176 in Newberry County, approximately 8 miles southeast of Whitmire, South Carolina (TMS # 437-1). A proposed reclamation plan to restore the site to grasslands has been submitted with the application. The mine permit application and related documents are available for review in ePermitting.
