Proposed Projects
The proposed project is to construct a joint-use dock consisting of a 4' x 712' walkway, a 20' x 15' covered pierhead, two 10' x 45' floating docks, two 3' x 40' catwalks, and three 12.5' x 12.5' boat lifts.

Public Hearing
The SCDES Bureau of Coastal Management held a public hearing for two (2) critical area permit applications submitted by Point Farm Investors LLC for (2) joint-use recreational docks located on and adjacent to the Leadenwah Creek at 6461and 6469 Hugh Wilson Lane, and 6464 and 6468 William Edings Wilson Lane, Wadmalaw Island, Charleston County, South Carolina.
This in-person public hearing was held Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Wadmalaw Community Center located at 5605 Katy Hill Road, Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina 29487.
What to Expect
During the public hearing, SCDES BCM staff provided a brief summary of the proposed applications and accepted verbal comments for the record to be considered prior to making a final decision. The hearing was designed so that SCDES BCM staff could gather comments as to the merits of the project and consider all information when making a decision based on the Coastal Tidelands and Wetlands Act, Department regulations, and policies.
The public notice for the hearing will remain open for two weeks following the hearing. Written comments will continue to be accepted through this public notice webpage until Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
SCDES BCM's final permit decision will be made available by email or mail to everyone on SCDES BCM’s mailing list who requested to be notified of the final Department decision.
