2026 Management Information
Lake Murray
The proposed herbicide treatment on Lake Murray has been canceled. SCDES will not be applying any herbicide to Lake Murray this year. Over the winter, SCDES and Dominion Lake Management will be working together to develop a management plan that can provide relief from problematic vegetation while accommodating existing drinking water intakes.
Management strategies currently in use in Lake Murray are the addition of 2650 grass carp which were stocked this year, and an upcoming winter drawdown which will help dry out and freeze some of the plant material in the lake substrate.
